Documentation Needed for Mortgage Application
The best way to start a smooth mortgage process and move toward a quick closing is to provide the proper documentation for the Lender upfront at the initial meeting. Much of the documentation is the same for many borrower’s, such as:
- Pay stubs covering the most recent, consecutive 30-45 day period
- Federal tax returns with all schedules and W2’s and/or 1099’s for the prior 2 years
- Most recent checking/savings statements (all pages)
- If applicable, most recent brokerage account(s) and/or retirement accounts (all pages)
NOTE: Depending on the circumstances of the particular file, additional documentation may be required, and you should check with your loan officer on what additional documents may be required for your application.
